Financial Contribution

A contribution to the agency is fully tax-deductible as allowed by law. Please make your check or money order payable to Community Health Action of S.I. (Or, if you’d prefer, you can spread your payments out in monthly installments.)

Corporate Sponsorship

Charitable giving by corporations provides crucial support to Community Health Action of S.I. and at the same time sends an important message to a company’s employees, customers, and stakeholders that they value, support, and empathize with the struggle that people living with HIV/AIDS endure. Corporate sponsorship can take different forms, including direct financial giving, cause-related marketing, event sponsorship, as well as in-kind support

Matching Gift Contribution

Check with your employer to see if there is a company program for matching gifts. Many businesses double or triple an employee’s donation.

Memorials and Tributes

When you make a financial donation in honor of a loved one, Community Health Action of S.I. will send your honoree a letter acknowledging your gift. (You might also consider including our agency in your will.)

Organize a Collection Drive

Your place of business, child’s school, house of worship, etc. would be perfect settings to organize a drive to collect donations. You might even look into the possibility of collaborating with bowling alleys, skating rinks, chain grocery stores, and malls to initiate a ‘community drive’. (College students are always looking for ways to earn community service credits and would probably make enthusiastic participants.)

Host a Fundraising Event

Consider inviting family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to your home for a fundraiser. A summer barbeque where guests are asked to bring a donation instead of dessert, a pre-holiday party where ‘the price of admission’ is a gift wrapped toy or a new school outfit for a child in need, a birthday celebration where the present goes to a person who is HIV+, a bride and groom can make a donation to our agency in lieu of the typical ‘wedding favors’, the possibilities are as numerous as your imagination will allow!

GMHC AIDS Walk New York

The annual Gay Men’s Health Crisis sponsored AIDS New York walk takes place in Manhattan, on the third Sunday in May.  As members of the Community Partnership Program, our agency receives 100% of the first $2,500 pledged and then 75% of the balance collected.  We are always seeking new participants.  All walkers must pre-register be listed on our team roster for us to be eligible to receive this funding. Therefore, it is advised that anyone interested should contact Ronnie DiGiacomo, Director of Resource Development at (718) 808-1300. The proceeds from this walk will ensure that thousands of people living with HIV/AIDS can access the life-sustaining care and direct services so necessary to their well being.

Last year this always popular gala attracted 650 people!  We encourage your support by attending and inviting others to attend, contribute to the auction by donating a time share, theater/concert tickets, art, restaurant coupons, airline tickets, collectables, etc., solicit journal ads, purchase our 50/50 raffles.
